On Thursday November 22nd, 2018 the Abbot of Segyu Gaden Phodrang Monastery, Khen Rinpoche Jampa Tsundu, officially opened the doors of the monastery’s Sumati D Charitable Cafe and Unique Shop for the first time. Joining us in our opening ceremony were monks from not only Segyu Monastery but also some monks from Shar Gaden Monastery and members of the local community. Led by Abbot Jampa Tsundu, the group performed prayers and blessings to dispel all obstacles and request all things be auspicious for the good fortune and success of the new shop, and for all the guests that we will have the pleasure of serving.
The shop will sell coffee and tea and various Dharma items such as Dharma books in English, CD’s, stick and powdered incense, essential oils, decorative shawls, and other Buddhism-related items, including a few precious antiques. All purchases are offerings that will go directly to monastery for the Health, Education and Well Being of our monks, as well as improvements of the monastery. We offer free WiFi at the shop and street access.
Please stop by if you’re in the area for a coffee, tea, or chat. We look forward to seeing you.
