Segyu Gaden Phodrang Monastery (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our content management application (“the App”) handles data when publishing content to social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
2. What Data We Collect
Our App is used internally by the monastery’s communications team. We collect and process the following data:
- Authentication tokens: OAuth access tokens from social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook) to publish content to our official accounts. These tokens are stored locally and securely.
- Content metadata: Video titles, descriptions, captions, and scheduling information for posts we create and publish.
3. What Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Personal data from viewers of our social media content
- User passwords or login credentials
- Browsing history, location data, or device information from third parties
- Data from any TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube users other than our own accounts
4. How We Use Data
The data we process is used exclusively to:
- Publish Buddhist teaching videos and monastery content to our social media accounts
- Schedule posts for future publication
- Manage our content calendar
We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties for commercial purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
Our App interacts with the following platforms through their official APIs:
- TikTok (Content Posting API) — to publish videos
- Facebook (Graph API) — to publish posts to our pages
- YouTube (Data API) — to manage our channel content
Each platform has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their respective policies.
6. Data Storage and Security
Authentication tokens and API keys are stored locally in environment files on secured devices used by authorised monastery staff. We do not store data on external servers or cloud databases. Access is restricted to authorised members of the communications team.
7. Data Retention
We retain authentication tokens only as long as they are needed to publish content. Expired tokens are replaced and old tokens are not archived. Temporary processing files (e.g., video files being prepared for upload) are deleted after use.
8. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Our App does not collect or store personal data from social media users, followers, or viewers — only OAuth authentication tokens for our own official monastery accounts (see Section 2). If you believe any content published by our monastery involves your personal data, or you would like us to delete any data we may hold that relates to you, please submit a request to sedgyued@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete any applicable deletion within 30 days.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our App does not knowingly collect or process data from children. Our published content is educational in nature and intended for general audiences.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
